Humayun Akhtar Khan calls for District Finance Commission to ensure financial autonomy

Former federal minister Humayun Akhtar Khan has emphasized the need for establishing a District Finance Commission to grant financial autonomy to districts, enabling them to address their economic challenges independently.

He also stressed the importance of setting up an industrial zone along the M3 motorway, which he described as essential for boosting economic activities and generating employment for the local population.

During his visit to the NA-97 constituency, Humayun Akhtar Khan met with farmers, social figures, and area elders to discuss the region’s pressing issues. He also visited the homes of those who had recently passed away, offering condolences and reciting Fateha for the deceased.

Speaking on the occasion, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the constituency, stating that his dedication to public service is not tied to any political position. “Our political offices in NA-97 are actively working to resolve long-standing issues faced by the people. We have maintained an uninterrupted and unbiased connection with the people, proving that we believe in selfless service,” he said.

Humayun Akhtar Khan urged authorities to prioritize the development of backward areas, emphasizing that financial autonomy at the district level is crucial for addressing local challenges effectively. “We will continue to raise our voice for the prosperity of our constituency and the development of our people. To the best of our ability, we are working to resolve problems within our personal capacity,” he added.

Highlighting the potential of the IT sector, he called for projects to be launched in rural areas alongside urban centers. He suggested offering incentives to attract IT companies to these areas, promoting technological advancement and economic growth in underdeveloped regions.

Humayun Akhtar Khan reiterated that his vision revolves around the prosperity of the constituency and sustainable development for its residents. “We will not rest until our people receive the opportunities and resources they deserve,” he concluded.
