One person died and another became seriously wounded when the driver of a rickshaw lost control and hit a Suzuki that was already parked on the road, the 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.

Soon after receiving the report of the incident, the Rescue 1122 team reached the site and shifted the dead and injured person to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Road accidents in Karachi have claimed 171 lives in 2025, with heavy vehicles like dumpers continuing to be a major cause of fatalities.
Rescue officials revealed that, alongside the deaths, over 2,200 people sustained injuries in various traffic accidents across the city.
These incidents highlight the urgent need for stricter road safety measures. Authorities have been urged to implement effective regulations to control reckless driving and ensure safer roads for commuters.
To curb such accidents, the Karachi Traffic Police has decided to install cameras and trackers in dumpers to monitor speed and issue challans for violations.
