Punjab schools to get advanced surveillance systems with facial recognition

The Punjab Education Department has announced plans to install advanced surveillance systems in schools across the province, featuring facial recognition technology to enhance security and monitor activities at entry points.

According to officials, high-tech security cameras will be placed at school entrances to identify students, teachers, and visitors, helping prevent unauthorized access, theft, and vandalism.

These systems will also generate daily reports for authorities to improve oversight and ensure safer environments in high-risk areas such as hallways and playgrounds.

The initiative is particularly significant for schools in Lahore, where large student populations require heightened security measures. In case of emergencies like intrusions or accidents, the surveillance system will provide real-time data to authorities for swift action.
