Federal, provincial govts to pay salaries, pensions in advance

The federal and provincial governments have announced that salaries and pensions for March 2026 will be paid in advance to provide financial ease for employees and retirees ahead of Eidul Fitr, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The Sindh government decided to disburse salaries and pensions to its employees on March 26 instead of April 1, 2026.

In Punjab, the finance department has issued a notification confirming that both government workers and pensioners will receive their pay on March 16, earlier than the usual schedule. 

This early disbursement is intended to help families prepare for the festive celebrations without financial strain.

Officials have directed relevant departments to complete all payroll and pension processing tasks promptly so that funds reach accounts before the holiday. As part of these preparations, deadlines have been set for administrative updates and payroll entries to ensure timely payments.
