British Chief of Defence Staff General Sir Nicholas Carter on Sunday arrived in Islamabad on a special visit to Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV.
General Nicholas reached Islamabad with his three-member delegation, which would hold important meetings with Pakistani authorities.
The visit by the UK commander is being seen as an important development keeping in view the volatile situation in Afghanistan amid the stalled peace talks and withdrawal of the American troops from the landlocked country.
According to sources, defence-related bilateral talks would also be held between the UK delegation and Pakistani authorities.
It’s pertinent to mention here that the British Chief of the Defence Staff is the professional head of the British Armed Forces and the most senior uniformed military adviser to the secretary of the state for defence and the prime minister.
