A fire broke out in a five-storey building near Stock Exchange Metro Station in the Blue Area of Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The fire was erupted due to a short circuit, according to the rescue sources.

Hundreds of citizens were trapped in the building and numerous jumped to save their lives.

Police got evacuated all the buildings in the surroundings.

Rescue teams and fire brigade were busy carrying out rescue operation till the filing of the report.
