Int’l shipping companies halt operations for Pakistan
Importers and exporters have to bear huge financial losses as international shipping companies announced to suspend their operations for Pakistan amid border tensions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
These views were expressed by Timber Merchant Group President Sharjeel Golpani said that these shipping companies increased freight charges by $3,000.
He said that businessmen of our country cannot afford increase in freight charges.
He warned that in case of suspension of import our country will have to face severe shortage of daily consumable goods and other raw material.
Sharjeel Golpani appealed the government to take immediate measures to clear the backlog of goods which are currently stuck at the port otherwise these goods will become useless.
He hoped that government will take up this issue on priority basis and will resolve this issue.
