Pakistan 200% ready to counter Indian aggression, says Kh Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif assured the nation on Thursday that Pakistan is “200% prepared” to defend itself and is responding effectively to Indian aggression, both militarily and diplomatically.

Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Khawaja Asif said the Pakistan Armed Forces are defending the country with exceptional bravery, facing off against a military that is several times larger in size and still managing to shoot down five Indian aircraft.

“The nation should rest assured. We are not just ready—we are 200% ready,” the defence minister told lawmakers.

He further revealed that Pakistan’s close allies, Turkey and China, are standing firmly beside it, and Pakistan has maintained contact with almost every major country in the world regarding the escalating regional tensions.

Two days ago, talking to media, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said the Indian attack on Neelum-Jhelum Dam is a serious matter. He made it clear that Pakistan will give a befitting response to India.

He said after the Indian attack, the overall situation remains serious and disturbing. He expressed concerns that the conflict may escalate further.

The defence minister stated that the National Security Committee (NSC) has authorised the Pakistan Army to respond effectively to India’s recent aggression.

Khawaja Asif said, "The Pakistan Army already delivered a fitting response last night. Modi now has no viable options left." He added that the Pakistani military has specifically targeted Indian military camps and civilian areas across India.

He further says that India attacked 6 to 7 different places without any credible justification. The minister said, “There were neither military bases nor terrorist hideouts at the targeted sites."

In the end, he said that while Pakistan cannot disclose its full strategy at this point, the country’s defence will be strong and in the national interest.
