Ex-police officer kidnapped from Bannu’s cantonment area

A former Station House Officer (SHO) was abducted along with his vehicle from the jurisdiction of Cantonment Police Station in the People Daud Shah area of Bannu, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to police sources, the abducted officer, identified as Abid, had previously served as the SHO of Police Station Wazir, officials said. 

Abid was dismissed from service by the District Police Officer (DPO) a day earlier.

Reports suggest that the former police officer was taken by unidentified individuals to an unknown location shortly after his abduction.

Law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation in the area to locate the victim and apprehend those responsible, police officials said.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the abduction.
