Agreement signed in Jeddah by Saudi deputy minister and Pakistan’s religious affairs secretary: Pakistani officials thank Saudi authorities for their continued hospitality and support for pilgrims
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have formally signed an agreement outlining administrative and logistical arrangements for Hajj 2026, reaffirming cooperation between the two countries in facilitating pilgrims, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
The agreement was signed in Jeddah by Saudi Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr Abdul Fattah bin Suleiman Al-Mashat and Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs Dr Syed Atta-ur-Rehman.
The signing ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Director General (Hajj) Jeddah Abdul Wahab Soomro, Director Hajj Makkah Azizullah Khan, Director Hajj Madinah Zia-ur-Rehman, Deputy Secretary (Hajj Policy) Chaudhry Kashif Hussain, and representatives from HOAP—the association of private Hajj operators.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Atta-ur-Rehman expressed gratitude to the Saudi government for its “exceptional efforts and hospitality” in serving pilgrims. He noted that, like previous years, Pakistani pilgrims will be provided with high-quality facilities and services during the upcoming Hajj season.
The federal secretary reaffirmed the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ commitment to completing all arrangements under both the government and private Hajj schemes in line with Saudi guidelines and within the stipulated time frame.
Saudi officials reiterated their government’s resolve to continue facilitating pilgrims and ensuring that all logistical and accommodation services meet international standards.
