Pakistan’s leading actress Mehwish Hayat has become part of the Oscar Selection Committee for 2020.

Taking to Twitter, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient Mehwish Hayat expressed her happiness with fans and wrote: “I’m honoured to be part of the ‘Oscar Selection Committee’ this year alongside our own two-times Oscar winner, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy.”

She further adds, “I look forward to seeing the nominated films. At least this is one way we can highlight our country & our talent on world stage IA.”

Many of the netizens congratulated Mehwish for achieving a new badge in her career.

The 2020 list also includes a diverse swath of people from all sectors of the industry, from acting to publicity to costume design. Invited actors include Ana de Armas, Brian Tyree Henry, Florence Pugh, Lakeith Stanfield, Beanie Feldstein.
