ATC blocks passport, issues non-bailable arrest warrants against PTI minister
Islamabad court declares Meena Khan Afridi wanted in May 9 case: Authorities begin proceedings to blacklist and seize his passport: SSP writes to DG Immigration and Passports for implementation of court orders
An Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad on Wednesday ordered the passport of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial minister Meena Khan Afridi to be blocked and seized in connection with a May 9 case.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, Meena Khan is wanted in a case registered in Islamabad over the May 9 incidents.
The court also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the PTI leader after finding that he had deliberately remained in hiding to avoid arrest.
Following the court's order, proceedings to place Meena Khan's passport on the blacklist have also been started.
The PTI provincial minister is accused of attempting to avoid investigation and arrest in the case registered against him.
The court order stated that Meena Khan is a nominated accused in FIR No. 544/24 and is deliberately absconding to evade arrest.
The court directed the relevant authorities to take action against him in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad SSP Investigation has written to the Director General of Immigration and Passports regarding the court's order to seize Meena Khan's passport.
