Judge refuses to expel reporters in PTI’s Rauf Hassan case
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Wednesday rejected the request made by the counsel for PTI leader Rauf Hassan to ask journalists to leave the courtroom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of the case of funding terrorists filed against Rauf Hassan and Ahmad Waqas Janjua at Ramna police station of Islamabad, judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked that journalists were witnesses to what was happening inside a courtroom.
Ayesha Khalid, Rauf’s lawyer, requested the judge to ask media personnel to leave the courtroom.
Sipra, however, said neither would he ask them to leave the courtroom nor would he ban their entry.
Ayesha then asked the judge that if he did not want to expel journalists, he could at least ask them not to use cellphones.
But the judge refused, saying he could not give such an order as well.
