Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan visited Jati Umra and condoled the death of Begum Shamim Akhtar with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Chaudhry Nisar had a one-on-one meeting with Shehbaz Sharif for an hour and also offered fateha for the departed soul. Both leaders also discussed the political situation prevailing in the country.

On the other hand, former Chief of the Army Staff General (retd) Raheel Sharif telephoned Shehbaz Sharif to condole the death of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.

It may be mentioned here that Begum Shamim Akhtar breather her last in London a few days ago. She was buried at Jati Umrah on Saturday last. Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz had been released on parole for five days to attend the funeral and burial of Begum Shamim Akhtar.

Governor Sarwar, Mengal, others also condole

Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Akhter Mengal on Tuesday called on PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif at Model Town and condoled with him the death of his mother, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar also telephoned Shehbaz Sharif and condoled with him over the sad demise of his mother. Governor Punjab also prayed for the elevation of Shehbaz Sharif mother's ranks in Jannah.

Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) President Masood Khan, Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwala, British House of Lords former member Nazir met with Shehbaz Sharif and condoled with him the death of his mother.
