Holding former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan responsible for the violence at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad yesterday, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said that it was Imran on whose orders so many people gathered at the complex, reporter 24NewsHD TV channel. 

“The people were called through a social media campaign," he said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.

He taunted that PTI leaders and workers could not spend even five days in jail. “They were the ones who had launched the ‘Jail Bharo’ movement, and now they were seeking bails,” he added. 

The minister was of the view that PTI chief’s crimes had been proved. 

He further said that Imran had now realized that his much talked-about ‘Jail Bharo’ movement was a flop. 

The reason, he went on to say, why Imran came to the courts along with a large number of people was to intimidate judges. “But the government is not oblivious to its duties, and knows how to enforce write of the state,” Sanaullah said emphatically. 

He claimed same was not the case with the PML-N, which had always respected the courts. “Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had attended dozens of hearings at the same judicial complex,” he said, “The federal government will accept the courts’ verdicts.”

The minister said he had also ordered departmental inquiry against the cops who had manhandled media personnel during Imran Khan’s hearing at the complex yesterday.
