PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, after parting ways with PML-N, announced to set up a new political party to promote public service agenda, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to media, former prime minister requested all political parties to refrain from labeling each other as corrupt. He lamented that during general elections not even a single political party spoke about public issues instead they followed the discourse of pleasing the non-political elements.
In order to bridge this gap in Pakistan’s political spectrum, former PM Abbasi claimed he was launching new political parties to highlight public issues. Khaqan Abbasi lamented that public issue was not the agenda of mainstream political parties. He raised concerns about the controversial nature of the February 8 2024 elections, warning of potential harm to the country’s stability if public confidence in the electoral system fades away.
Former PM Abbasi stressed the urgent need for all stakeholders to join hands to steer country out of crisis and move forward unitedly, suggesting that failure to do so could aggravate country’s political and economic woes.
