ATC judge who sentenced Priyantha Kumara murderers transferred

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has decided to transfer the anti-terrorism court judge who had convicted and handed down sentence to the suspects involved in the brutal murder of Sri Lankan citizen Priyantha Kumara and setting him ablaze in Sialkot, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

It is learnt that the LHC has decided to withdraw the services of Gujranwala Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Natasha Naseem, and, the Punjab government has also approved the appointment of District and Sessions Judge Rana Zahid Iqbal in her place.

The decision will be implemented after the Eid holidays with the approval of the LHC chief justice.

The decision of replacing Natasha Naseem was taken on the completion of her tenure.

District and Sessions Judge Rana Zahid Iqbal will now be the new Gujranwala ATC Judge for three years.

His services will be provided to the Punjab government on deputation after approval from the LHC chief justice.

He is currently posted as Labour Court Judge in Bahawalpur.
