Police make foolproof security arrangements for PSL matches in Rawalpindi
Police have made foolproof security arrangements for Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches which will be played in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani, more than 5,000 officers of Rawalpindi police will perform duties while 367 traffic police officers will perform duties to maintain traffic flow.
The CPO said that a special control room has been set up for CCTV monitoring of the arrangements.
Elite Force, Dolphin Force and police station mobiles will perform patrol duties in the vicinity of the stadium, CPO said.
Along with effective security of the teams’ route, snipers have been deployed on the rooftops.
Cricket fans coming to watch the match will be allowed to enter the stadium after a walk-through gate and full body search.
All senior officers will be present on the field and check and brief the officers on duty.
Secure arrangements during the matches will be ensured as well as uninterrupted traffic flow.
Foolproof security arrangements will be ensured through coordination between the Pak Army, Rangers, other security agencies and the district administration.
All possible steps are being taken to provide convenience and a pleasant environment to the citizens during Pakistan Super League matches.
