SBP says remittances remain over 2bn for 14th straight month

The State Bank of Pakistan has shown its satisfaction over the remittances sent by the overseas Pakistanis saying the emittances have been over $2 billion for the straight 14th month, reported 24News HD TV channel.

In a tweet posted on Tuesday, the State Bank of Pakistan wrote: “For the 14th straight month, remittances were over $2bn in July. At $2.7bn, they were higher than Jun and slightly lower, by $57mn, than July 20, despite fewer working days due to Eid. This is the 2nd highest level ever observed in Jul: https://sbp.org.pk/ecodata/Homeremit.pdf

The State Bank further stated that the highest remittances of $ 640.10 million were received from Saudi Arabia. From the United Arab Emirates remittances amounting to $53.10 were received. 

From the UK, remittances amounted to $390.30 million and from America, $310.20 million were sent to Pakistan.
