No immediate relief as hot, humid weather persists in Lahore

Hot and sultry weather continues to test the nerves of people of Lahore who are now praying for rain so that they could get rid of hot and humid conditions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

It was 31 degrees Celsius early in the morning while maximum temperature was likely to go up to 36 degrees Celsius later in the day.

The minimum temperature at dawn was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius.

To make matters worse, the weather department forecast dry weather for the provincial capital during the next 24 hours.

The air quality index (AQI) stood at 132, making Lahore the world’s 10th most polluted city.

Met Office forecasts humid weather for Karachi

On the other hand, weathermen predicted partly cloudy and humid weather for Karachi during the next 24 hours.

They also forecast drizzle in the city later in the afternoon.

They said maximum temperature in the city would go up to 31 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level in the provincial capital was recorded at 73 per cent.

Winds were blowing from south-westerly direction at the speed of 26 kilometers per hour.
