PTI senator will be presented before local court today
Soon after the Balochistan High Court ordered the Quetta police to release and quash all cases against Senator Azam Swati in the province, the PTI leader was taken by the Sindh police and he spent last night in Qambar police station, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, Swati will be presented later today (Saturday) before a local district and sessions court.
A large number of PTI supporters have assembled outside the sessions court.
Police have made strict security arrangements.
Sources said that authorities did not disclose the news that Swati was handed over to the local police.
Cases against Swati have been registered in Qambar Shahdad Kot and Naseerabad for his anti-establishment tweets.
Swati was arrested in Islamabad by the FIA on November 27 for the second time in less than two months over his controversial anti-state institutions’ tweets. A number of FIRs were registered against him in Balochistan and Sindh.
