‘I am innocent,’ Imran tells court in Al Qadir Trust case

Former prime minister Imran Khan’s statement in the Al Qaidr Trust case has surfaced, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The PTI founder submitted answers to 79 questions to the court in the 342-page statement.

He told the court that he had nothing to do with the financial affairs of Al-Qadir University.

“I am innocent,” reads the reply of the former premier to the question “Have you anything else to say?”

Citing the Supreme Court’s observation in the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto reference, he claimed that there was no fair trial in his case.

The bank concerned transferred the money to the Supreme Court account on the instructions of the account holder, the PTI founder said, adding that the State of Pakistan did not suffer any loss as the money did not belong to the central bank.

According to the prosecution's records, Shahzad Akbar and Zia Al-Mustafa were in Pakistan on November 6, 2019.

He alleged that NAB destroyed the records in the matters of ex-president Asif Zardari, former-CJP Qazi Faez Isa, ex-PMs Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, CM Maryam Nawaz, Deputy Premier Ishaq Dar.

He alleged Pervez Khattak was approved against him and was freed from the May 9 cases.
