Arts students now eligible for FSc pre-medical, engineering!

The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) has announced a major policy change allowing matriculation students from the arts group to seek admission in pre-medical and other science-related programs at the intermediate level.

According to officials from the Lahore Board, students who previously studied arts subjects in matriculation will now be eligible to pursue a wide range of science disciplines—including pre-engineering and ICS—once they enter college. The decision aims to create broader academic opportunities and reduce barriers for students looking to change their educational paths.

The good news extends to O- and A-level students as well. Those who have completed their studies with at least two science subjects will now receive a certificate equivalent to the local science group, enabling smoother admission into intermediate science streams.

Board officials further confirmed that students who have already passed matric with arts under the Lahore Board will also be allowed to enroll in intermediate science programmes. Importantly, if colleges grant admission to these students, the board is obligated to conduct their examinations just like those of traditional science-group candidates.
