PML-N leader Amir Farooq survives assassination attempt in Lahore
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former union council chairman Amir Farooq was unhurt, and his nephew Aun Ali received bullet injuries during an armed attack outside his house in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Amir Farooq said that his two brothers, Ahmad Farooq and Tanveer Farooq, were also injured in the attack.
The PML-N leader said that one Malik Iqbal and his accomplices were selling drugs and running a gambling point in his area.
Amir Faoroq said that he repeatedly asked Malik Iqbal to halt his illegal activities in the area, but he attacked him with arms.
Police registered a first information report under sections of attempted murder on behalf of Amir Farooq. The police team also collected evidence from the crime scene.
Soon after the incident, Malik Iqbal and his accomplices escaped from the area. The police investigation wing constituted different teams to apprehend the culprits.
