Stop it! Mahama Aamir puts weight behind Nida Yasir over delivery riders' controversy

Mahama Aamir has come to the defence of Nida Yasir after her recent remarks on food delivery riders sparked debate on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Mahama clarified that Nida’s comments were not demeaning or disrespectful, urging followers to stop misinterpreting her words.

She wrote: “I said it once, I’m saying it again… don’t mix opinions! What @itsnidayasir.official said was not demeaning or disrespectful. For God’s sake, stop it!”

The controversy began when Nida Yasir discussed the common frustration of delivery riders claiming they have no change during transactions.

Speaking on her morning show, Good Morning Pakistan, Nida suggested that when riders are asked to get change and made to wait, it helps them understand the habit and its impact on deliveries.

"When they’re made to wait and end up reaching their next deliveries late, then they understand. It’s become a habit with many of them now,” she said.

Her conversational take, shared with guests Nadia Khan, Saima Qureshi, and Rabab Masood, drew mixed reactions online.

While some viewers agreed with Yasir’s perspective, others criticised it, highlighting the pressures delivery workers face and urging empathy. Many suggested practical alternatives like digital tipping or carrying exact change.

Nadia Khan and the others offered nods, jokes and examples from their own experiences, keeping the mood conversational.
