Sydney Sixers unveil unique ‘056’ jersey number for Babar Azam

Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Sydney Sixers has introduced a unique jersey number for Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam, who will represent the team in the upcoming BBL season 15, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.

The BBL is set to begin on 14 December, and Babar arrived in Sydney earlier this week to join the Sixers’ camp.

Ahead of the season opener, the franchise unveiled a special three-digit jersey number — ‘056’ — designed exclusively for the prolific Pakistani batter.

Babar, who traditionally wears the national jersey number 56, has been given the distinctive ‘056’ number by the Sydney Sixers, marking a break from the league’s usual two-digit style. The move is being seen as a tribute to his stature and global fan following.

The Sixers shared images of Babar donning the new jersey at the Sydney Cricket Ground, drawing excitement from fans across both Australia and Pakistan as the countdown to BBL 15 officially begins.
