The Islamabad High Court (IHC) extended interim bail of Mustafa Kamal, brother of ex-interior minister Ahsan Iqbal till February 19 in a corruption case.

Kamal was running a company that was awarded a contract to beautify metro bus route in Islamabad.

Two-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah, granted the accused interim bail against surety bonds worth Rs0.5 million last month.

Ahsan Iqbal made a request to the IHC for restraining NAB from arresting his brother.

He alleged that the accountability watchdog was victimising the former ruling party.

Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri was the counsel for accused. The court adjourned the hearing till February 19.
