Court lets FIA probe judge video leak suspect in jail

An anti-terrorism court Monday allowed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to grill jailed Tariq Mehmood, a suspect in judge video leak case.

The FIA made a requested to the court of Judge Raja Shahrukh Arjumand for permitting investigation under Anti-Terrorism Act in jail. 

Last year, Maryam Nawaz showed a video to reporters claiming that accountability court judge Arshad Malik admitted he was being pressurized in a case against ex-PM Nawaz Sharif. However, the judge denied any wrongdoing.

The court of Arshad Malik convicted Nawaz Sharif in the Al Azizia mills case. The case was transferred to the anti-terrorist court (ATC). Mehmood was arrested from the capital by and had been in custody.
