Naseem Shah confident in team’s preparation despite India clash hype

Pakistan’s young pacer Naseem Shah Monday acknowledged that the team had come close to securing victories against India in several key matches but had fallen short due to avoidable mistakes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

"We've identified certain errors that cost us crucial games.

As players, we must learn from our past experiences," he explained while talking to media in Karachi.

Addressing the much-anticipated Pakistan-India encounter in the upcoming champion trophy, Shah reiterated that Pakistan would approach it like any other game, sticking to their standard game plan and strategy rather than letting external pressure influence their mindset.

While the match holds historical significance and intense rivalry, he stated that the team has not yet specifically discussed the fixture.

"Winning one match isn't our ultimate goal," he remarked, adding that both teams will experience equal pressure in this high-stakes contest.

Shah believed that success in such games hinges on how well teams handle the intense atmosphere rather than just individual talent or records.

Despite the challenges, Shah expressed confidence in Pakistan’s potential to perform well in the Champions Trophy.

He highlighted the team’s focus on reducing mistakes and applying lessons learned from previous encounters.

Speaking about the expected bowling conditions, Shah noted that the pitches might not be particularly conducive to fast bowling.

However, he stressed that maintaining an accurate line and length, coupled with discipline, could allow bowlers to exert pressure on opposing teams. He underlined that successfully executing these fundamentals would be key to Pakistan’s bowling strategy.
