PTI protest call: Lahore police book protesters for road blockade in Gulberg
A case has been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers who staged a protest on Ferozepur Road in Lahore following the party’s nationwide strike call, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to police, the case was registered at Gulberg Police Station on the complaint of the police. The FIR includes charges of vandalism, blocking public roads, incitement, and interference in official duties.
The FIR stated that seven individuals were arrested from the spot after additional police contingents reached the area. The arrested suspects have been identified as Irfan, Habib, Abdul Rehman, Ehsan Rasool, and Hafiz Mushtaq Rasool, police said.
Police further said that efforts are underway to identify and arrest other individuals involved in blocking the road and creating public disturbance.
