Hosting Global Health Summit Pakistan’s honour: Minister

Caretaker Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi said on Tuesday that
“Global Health Security Summit” was being held in Islamabad on January 10 and 11.
Addressing a joint press conference along with Caretaker Minister for Health Dr Nadeem Jan in Islamabad, Solangi said that problems related to the health of the people were the real problems. He opined that hosting the Global Health Security Summit was an honour for Pakistan.
This conference had nothing to do with politics or artificial intelligence, it was related to the health of humanity, Solangi added.

A two-day global health security summit is commencing in Islamabad tomorrow with the aim to ensure pandemic preparedness and response on equity basis.

Nadeem Jan said Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar will inaugurate the moot and more than seventy national and international delegates will attend it.

The Minister for National Health Services said we are pursuing a big goal through this conference, stressing it is aimed at ensuring that all the countries have equal access to facilities, human resouce, vaccine and financing to cope with any outbreak and pandemic.

To a question, Dr. Nadeem Jan said relevant departments have been advised to stay vigilant regarding a possible resurgence of the new variant of Covid-19 variant JN.1.

He said for this purpose border health security system is also being strengthened.

The Minister said on the sidelines of this international conference we are also expecting health cooperation with various countries including Saudi Arabia.

The Minister said we are also working to organize consortium in coordination with the private sector for the production of vaccines.
