Punjab govt to buy 100,000 tons wheat from farmers: Adviser

Special Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Salma Butt on Saturday said that the Punjab government is taking every measure to provide relief to farmers of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, Salma Butt said that Punjab is the first province who formulated a Wheat 2026 plan.

Salma Butt said that Punjab’s farmers always supported and placed their confidence in Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

She said that subsidies were provided on seeds and fertilizer for wheat sowing to farmers of the province.

Salma Butt said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced measures to provide immediate relief to farmers.

She further said that the Punjab government fixed Rs3500 per mound price for wheat. She said that the Punjab government will purchase 100,000 tons of wheat from the private sector.
