The water crisis in Karachi has forced the industrialists to relocate their units to other cities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Korangi Association of Trade and Industry President Saleemuz Zaman told 24News TV channel that it had become impossible to run industries when water in the city was so expensive.
“A well-known industrialist and United Business Group President SM Muneer has shifted his factory to Lahore while other industrialists also have similar plans,” he disclosed.
Talking to 24News TV channel, Muneer said that in Karachi he had to spend Rs200 million to Rs250 million on purchasing water, which was no more affordable.
Saleemuz Zaman further said that if industrialists of the country’s financial hub continued to shift to other cities, unemployment will rise.
