Rs1.25 hike in electricity tariff to cost consumers Rs46 billion

The electricity price has been increased by Rs1.25 per unit on account of quarterly adjustment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) issued a notification regarding the increase in the electricity price on Monday.

The increase in the electricity price was made on account of the quarterly adjustment for months from January to March 2023.

The additional electricity charges will be received in the bills for July, August and September 2023.

The power consumers will have to bear an additional burden of Rs46.54 billion.

The notification regarding the increase in the electricity price will not be applicable to K-Electric consumers.
