Search intensifies as more wreckage of K2 cargo plane recovered from deep sea
PAA says recovered wreckage will be handed to investigators for detailed examination: Air and sea assets remain engaged in the search for missing crew.
The Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency have recovered more wreckage and aircraft parts from the K2 Airways cargo plane that crashed into the sea during a joint deep-water operation, as search efforts continue for the missing crew.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the search for the missing crew is continuing with full support from both air and maritime resources. Rescue teams remain engaged in an extensive operation to locate those on board and recover additional evidence from the crash site.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed on Friday that more debris and aircraft components had been recovered from the sea. The authority said the recovered wreckage would be handed over to the investigation team to assist in determining the cause of the accident.

Search and Rescue (SAR) missions by the Pakistan Navy (PN) and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) in the deep sea remain underway.
The PAA added that the public would be kept informed of further developments related to the rescue operation. It said additional information would be released at an appropriate time as the search and rescue mission continues.
Two days ago, on July 6, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported that a Pakistan-registered K2 Airways Boeing 737 cargo aircraft travelling from Sharjah to Karachi had crashed into the Arabian Sea near Ormara after suffering a navigation system malfunction, while search and rescue operations remained under way.
According to officials, the aircraft encountered a technical fault in its navigation system before the accident.
A spokesperson for the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority said radar contact with the cargo aircraft was lost approximately 155 nautical miles west of Karachi.
Before communication was severed, the Karachi Area Control Centre provided immediate navigational assistance to the crew.
The aircraft was being flown by Captain Muhammad Rizwan Idris and First Officer Faisal Jatoi.
The remaining crew members on board were engineers Muhammad Hamid and Muhammad Arif Siddiqui, and loadmaster Muhammad Taufiq Khan.
Authorities confirmed that all five crew members are Pakistani nationals.
Sources said the Pakistan Navy has deployed warships PNS Zulfiquar and PNS Haneen to the area as part of the ongoing search and rescue operation.
