45 private hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients in Punjab

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Syndicate meeting has decided to open affiliated 45 hospitals of private medical and dental colleges for treatment of coronavirus patients in the province.

The final decision will be taken by the Punjab Healthcare Commission.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, these private hospitals are also required to allocate 50 percent free beds to the public. “Each private medical college will allocate at least 150 beds for corona patients within 48 hours.”

The syndicate gave free hand to UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Javed Akram while Prof Khawaja Sadiq Hussain and Prof Sajid Maqbool also attended the 58th meeting of the UHS Syndicate.

Prof Abdul Nasir Shah, Dr Saqib Mahmood, Prof Humaira Akram and Prof Waheed Al Hameed participated in the meeting through video link.
