Newlywed couple’s honeymoon turns sour after groom takes family along
A honeymoon trip has reportedly turned into a major marital dispute in India after a newlywed groom took his parents and siblings along on the couple's vacation, leading his wife to seek a divorce, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to Indian media reports, the marriage was arranged through a matrimonial website between a woman from Uttar Pradesh and a man from Patel Nagar.
Shortly after their wedding, the groom took his bride on a honeymoon trip.
However, the journey took an unexpected turn when his parents and siblings also accompanied the couple.
Reports said the presence of the groom's family throughout the trip became a source of serious disagreement between the newlyweds, with tensions escalating in the weeks that followed.
The dispute reportedly became so severe that the woman formally demanded a divorce, prompting the matter to be referred to a counseling center for mediation.
During counseling sessions, the woman said she was unable to spend any private time with her husband because his family members were present throughout the honeymoon.
The husband, however, defended his decision, saying he wanted everyone to be happy and enjoy the trip together.
He told counselors that he had included his parents and siblings in the vacation so they could also experience the journey and did not believe there was anything inappropriate about the arrangement.
Counselors are reportedly attempting to resolve the dispute, though no final decision regarding the couple's future has been reported.
