All political, legal means to be used for Sanjrani’s victory: Minister

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the PTI government will use all political, democratic and legal means to secure victory of Sadiq Sanjrani as Senate chairman.

In a tweet uploaded on Wednesday, the federal minister said the Opposition parties were damaging the democracy by using illegal and immoral tactics, including sale and purchase of the votes for elections in the Upper House of the Parliament.

Shibli Faraz said Prime Minister Imran Khan has declared war against illegal and undemocratic tactics.

It may be mentioned here that elections to elect Senate chairman and deputy chairman will be held on Friday, March 12.

The PTI has nominated Sadiq Sanjrani as its candidate while the Opposition has named Yousaf Raza Gilani as their nominee.

Both the sides have to formally announce the names of their candidates for the slot of deputy chairman. However, the PTI is expected to nominate Faisal Javed while the Opposition may name Abdul Ghafoor Haideri as their candidates for the Senate deputy chairmanship.
