The promotion of favouritism continues unabated in the power division, according to sources.

The insiders said the new managing director of PEPCO has been posted without the approval of the cabinet.

Postings on the ad hoc bases have been adding to problems being faced by the company, they said, adding that the Pepco MD has also been given the charge of looking after managerial and financial affairs of 10 DISCOS. 

The notification has been issued on the directive of energy minister Umar Ayub, the insiders said.
