In order to further tighten screws around the neck of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government, which is already confronted with the no-trust motion, a delegation of leaders of the opposition parties went to the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday and submitted an application to the chief election commissioner (CEC) in which they demanded him to expedite the hearing of PTI’s foreign funding case so that it could be decided at the earliest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Those who met the CEC included PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal, Marriyum Aurangzeb, JUI-F’s Kamran Murtaza, PPP’s Faisal Kareem Kundi and Nadeem Afzal Chan and ANP’s Mian Iftikhar Hussain.
An interesting situation developed outside the office of ECP when Kamran Murtaza of the JUI-F remarked, ‘Gal wad gai ai’ (things getting out of control) to which Nadeem Afzal Chan replied, Hukoomat disdi nai pai (government is nowhere to be seen).
Hearing this, all the opposition leaders burst into laughter.
