Catholic priest Hilarion Heagy has embraced Islam and his Muslim name is Said Abdul Latif.
“My firm belief is that it genuinely feels like coming home,” he wrote in a blog post, adding that his conversion to Islam was actually a reversion to Islam and that making the announcement felt like a homecoming.
An American author and journalist Paul Williams has announced that Said Abdul Latif will share his extraordinary journey to Islam in his first-ever interview on March 12.

Muslims accorded a warm welcome to Said Abdul Latif and according to him, the Muslim community welcomed him with hospitality which he has never experienced.
Despite everything, he adds he feels so at peace and a sense of relief he’d been lured to Islam for twenty years, and now he is back.
“Now, one can begin the process of developing their faith and educational commitment to the Deen and the Ummah.”
