Kashmiris to mark KH Khurshid’s 35th death anniversary on Saturday

The 35th death anniversary of the famous Kashmiri leader KH Khurshid will be celebrated on March 11 (tomorrow) at Barroom Haveli, Azad Kashmir, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The anniversary will be celebrated under the auspices of the KH Khursheed Memorial Society.
The event will be held at 11 am in the bar room in which his services and sacrifices for the cause of Kashmiri people will be appreciated.
A special prayer for his eternal peace will also be held at the event.
Khurshid Hasan Khurshid (1924 – 1988) was the private secretary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the liberator of Pakistan. He was sent by Jinnah to Jammu and Kashmir in October 1947 shortly before the tribal invasion. He was arrested by Indian forces and jailed in Srinagar and finally repatriated in a prisoner exchange in 1949. He was the first elected president of Azad Kashmir. He was the founder of the first Constitution of Azad Kashmir.
Khurshid often wrote his name as simply "Khurshid", which was both his first name and last name.
