Fans vent frustration on ‘Philips’ company after Glenn Phillips catches Virat Kohli

After the Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli was dismissed in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand, his fans erupted in fury online.

But in a bizarre twist, their anger was misdirected to the wrong Twitter (X) and Instagram accounts. 

During India’s final match, New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips pulled off a breathtaking catch to send Kohli back to the pavilion.

For many Indian fans, this was too much to handle, and they took to Instagram to express their frustration.

However, instead of targeting the cricketer, they mistakenly flooded the official Instagram page of Philips, the well-known home appliance brand. 

Twitter (X) and Instagram were soon flooded with witty memes and sarcastic remarks, including:

"I’m never buying a Philips product again!"
"Glenn Phillips caught Kohli, but Philips Electronics will pay the price!"
"Philips, we won’t forgive you for this!"
Many users even tagged the official ‘Philips’ social media accounts, jokingly demanding an apology for Kohli’s dismissal.
