Hanif Abbasi implements six-day work week for Railway officers

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi wasted no time in making key decisions after assuming office, issuing an immediate directive to end weekly leave for officers at the Railway Headquarters.

As per the new order, officers will now be required to work on Saturdays, effectively implementing a six-day work week. A notification regarding the change has been issued by the Ministry of Railways.

Shortly after taking charge, Abbasi presided over a high-level meeting at the Railway Headquarters, where Secretary Railways Mazhar Ali Shah provided a detailed briefing on the performance of the department, train operations, and safety measures.

During the meeting, Abbasi emphasized the importance of passenger safety, directing officials to install monitoring devices to prevent accidents. He further stated that to transform Pakistan Railways into a stable and dynamic institution, efforts would focus on increasing revenue and reducing expenses.

Abbasi assured that the ministry would strive for continued progress through better coordination and efficiency.
