Upper parts receive rain, snow as another westerly wave enters Pakistan

Different parts in the country’s north received rain, while it snowed in the mountainous areas during the last 24 hours under the impact of another westerly wave, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.   

Rain and snow over the hills were reported from different areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), turning the weather cold again.

Showers and snow were reported from Rawalakot in AJK and its surrounding areas, due to which the weather turned cold again.  

Similarly, it also rained and snowed in Khyber and its outskirts, which not only turned the weather chilly but also added to the beauty of the area.

However, the weather also caused inconvenience to the residents of the area as the power supply was disconnected.

Still, people heaved a sigh of relief and termed rain a blessing in the holy month of Ramadan.    

Country to receive rain, snow for next few days

Meanwhile, the weather department forecast that different parts of the country would receive rain as well as snow from today till March 16. 

It said that showers, accompanied by strong winds, would lash the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

It also predicted rain for Peshawar, Kohat, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Hangu and Bannu during the aforementioned period. 

It said that there might be heavy rainfall at a few places in KP.   

Likewise, the department predicted rain and snowfall for Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Khyber and Waziristan. 

In Punjab, the department said the weather would remain dry and partly cloudy, while downpours were likely in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore, Gujranwala and Gujrat during the above-mentioned period. 

Rain and light snow were forecast for Murree and its suburban areas.

Partly cloudy and dry weather was forecast for most parts of Sindh. 

Similarly, the department predicted that the weather in most areas in Balochistan would remain dry, while thundershowers were expected in Chaghi, Quetta, Zhob and Musakhel between March 10 and March 16. 

Rain and snow over the hills were also forecast for AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
