E-stamps replace traditional stamp papers in Punjab

People in Punjab will no longer need traditional security stamp paper as the Board of Revenue Punjab has introduced digital reforms in the stamping system, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Now the online payment of stamp duty and the issuance of stamps have been made possible as people will be able to get e-stamps while sitting at their homes, while they will pay the duty through OTP mobile app.

People will no longer need to go to banks to get stamps.

The new system will put an end to the use of fake and illegal stamp papers.

It will also ensure transparency and a fast service.
