Class XI exams to be held on May 11, 12 posponed in Punjab

Punjab Higher Education Department Wednesday postponed Class XI examinations to be held on May 11 and May 12 throughout the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A notification in this regard has been issued.
The notification reads that in continuation of this department's notification of even No dated 09 May 2023 and keeping In view the prevailing security situation across Punjab, the Competent Authority hereby directs that all Public Sector Colleges/ Universities (Except Medical Colleges/ Universities) and all other Educational Institutions under the administrative control of the Higher Education Department, Punjab shall remain close on May 11 and May 12 2023 (Thursday and Friday).
Furthermore, papers of Secondary School First Annual Examination 2023 (Part-I) are to be held on 11-12 May (Thursday and Friday) are hereby postponed till further orders.
Earlier, the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education postponed Class XI examinations to be held on May 11 and May 12.
The students were scheduled to appear in the Chemistry exam on Thursday (May 11) and Islamiat on Friday (May 12).
The decision was taken after the deteriorating law and order situation in the country following the protests that erupted after the arrest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday.
Earlier, all the examinations of Class XI in the Punjab province for Wednesday were also cancelled.
British Council has also postponed the examination of O and A Level students for another day as all the exams on May 11 have been postponed.
