May 10, 2023 11:55 AM

To protest the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan from outside the Islamabad High Court, the Lahore and Rawalpindi Bar Associations have announced a complete boycott of the courts on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Litigants who came to the courts to attend their cases suffered after the announcement by the lawyers bodies.

The black coats neither appeared in any court in connection with their cases nor the prisoners were transferred to the courts from any prison in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Sessions courts adjourned all their cases to the next date.

Rawalpindi Bar Association expressed resentment over torture by security personnel on court employees and lawyers while arresting Imran Khan.

While strongly condemning the incident, they demanded of the authorities to take strict action against the police and Rangers personnel involved in torture.
