Islamabad admin puts all city hospitals on high alert 

The district administration of Islamabad on Saturday put all hospitals in the city on a high alert as it completed arrangements for dealing with any emergency situation arising out of a war between India and Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Memon said that 2, 389 additional beds had been arranged at 19 hospitals of the city. “As many as 69 ambulances; 26 in the district health office and 12 in the Rescue 1122, will be available to deal with an emergency situation, while steps have also been taken to ensure the supply of medicines, oxygen and blood to the people,” Memon said, adding, “As many as 46 shelter homes have also been built so that the people could be provided an accommodation in the event of Indian attack.”

He further said that 446 volunteers were also ready to assist the district administration in the relief and rescue operations. “District Control Room, housed in the Safe City Complex, will remain functional 24/7,” the deputy commissioner said, adding, “Sirens have been installed on the rooftops of 48 high-rise buildings of the city.” 

He informed that the administrations of mosques had been approached to make important announcements. 

Making it clear that no negligence would be tolerated, he ordered all officers to remain on the field. 

Memon appealed to the residents of the federal capital to cooperate with the district administration during any emergency. “In case of any untoward incident, do contact the district control room,” he advised. 

He also asked the citizens to watch the social media of the DC office to receive updates on the downing of drones and for the confirmation of other news.
