ECP releases lists of women candidates for reserved seats in GB elections

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has shared the lists of women candidates on reserved seats in Gilgit-Baltistan elections 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 

According to lists, the nomination papers of 13 Muslim League-N, 2 of the PPP, 6 of the Islamic Movement, 4 of the Pakistan Muslim League, were approved. The nomination papers of 4 women each from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, 3 of the Iqbal Pakistan Party, 1 of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and the Gilgit-Baltistan Democratic Party were approved. 

The papers of 13 female candidates of the Muslim League-N were approved. The papers of Sajida Begum, Jennifer Bahad, Sarwat Saba, Hakima Sultana and Samia Shakeel were approved. The papers of Bushra Khatun, Yasmin Afzal, Shireen Akhtar and Amina Ali were also approved. The nomination papers of Zahra Nazakat, Asmara Sadaf, Soraya Muhammad Zaman and Sanam Bi Beke were approved. The papers of two candidates of the Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians were approved. The papers of preferred candidates Kulsoom Jahangir and Sadia Danish are approved. Out of seven women's reserved seats of the Islamic Movement, six nomination papers were approved, one was rejected. 

The nomination papers of Tahira Batool, Tahira Kazim and Masooma of the Islamic Movement were approved. The nomination papers of Syeda Anila Zahra, Nida Zahra and Zahra Khatun were approved. The nomination papers of Nusrat Fatima Wilayat of the Islamic Movement were rejected. 

The nomination papers of Kayanat Dil Nawaz, Khushnoor Deedar, Sajida Abbas and Mehreen Zahra of the Pakistan Muslim League were approved. The nomination papers of Sobia Ali and Syeda Noor-ul-Ain of the Pakistan Muslim League were rejected. The nomination papers of four preferred candidates for women's seats of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam were approved. The nomination papers of Kausar, Mehnaz Wali, Asia and Hina Noor of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam were approved. 

The nomination papers of three preferred female candidates of the Isthaqam-e-Pakistan Party were approved. The nomination papers of Dilshad Bano, Parveen Ghazi, Tehmina Munir of the Isthaqam-e-Pakistan Party were approved. Kaneez Fatima of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen approved. Rubina Ibrahim of Gilgit-Baltistan Democratic Party approved.
